The future of roofing never looked this good.
TAGTILE™ Solar Roof
Elegant and timeless black matte glass roof tiles, for when design matters. A complete system for new and replacement residential and commercial roofs.
-
Energy-producing and passive glass tiles come in a black matte silk surface that blends perfectly with the rest of the system materials. More colors are to be introduced.
-
Installs as a traditional roof using standard roofing battens attached directly to the roof deck.
-
Market-tested on 400+ projects in Denmark with the first project anticipated to start in North America end of 2024.
-
In a BIPV solar roof, active and passive tiles act as the roof and weather barrier.

A solar roof with a modern, understated slate-like appearance is achieved with tempered glass and hidden solar cells embedded in what we call a TAGTILE™. Tempered glass is incredibly durable which makes a TAGTILE™ significantly stronger than a normal roof tile. Innovation for architects and builders designing sustainable new homes and commercial buildings.

- Roofing battens ensure adequate ventilation to avoid overheating the solar tiles and maximize solar performance.
- Natural air flow helps to reduce attic temperature.
- Allowable Roof Pitch is >2:12 or above.
Certifications
- Tested and Approved by Danish Technological Institute (DTI) for wind, hail, and snow load. Accumulated aging testing/ System outdoor performance testing by DTI since 2018.
- Received Highest Fire Classification from DBI - The Danish Institute of Fire and Security Technology.
- UL & IEC Certification by Intertek USA & CA – in progress.
Inverter Type

Sustainability for a Lifetime.
-
Designed in Scandinavia by Thomas Pedersen - a Danish roofer and the founder and majority owner of Solartag. The roofing system has fewer parts and is lighter, easier to install, and more versatile than the competition.
-
Produces enough energy to cover the needs of a household or commercial building depending on the roof layout.
-
Panels can easily be replaced for upgrading or repair.

On the road to energy independence.
In these turbulent times, it is good to be able to take something for granted. Take comfort in the boundless energy of the Sun harnessed by our BIPV new construction or replacement solutions.
-
The natural airflow provided by the battens helps to moderate the temperature, keeping the property cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.
-
Each roof is individually designed and optimized to cover the household's needs even in geographic areas with less direct sun.
-
The dramatic reduction of solar costs over the years means that a solar roof is a viable option for home or business owners wishing to avoid increasing utility rates.
The solar roof more than pays for itself in the long run by reducing or eliminating the homeowner’s electricity bill entirely. It also cuts installation costs considerably by avoiding the two separate steps of installing a new roof and then adding solar panels on top.
