Denmark’s Future Living in Fælledby

An entire residential district that generates its own power from the rooftops.

Delivering an entire residential district with native solar power production from the rooftops.

Projects such as Fælledby in Copenhagen set completely new standards for sustainable construction. Copenhagen's newest district is a beacon for how we can build greener and integrate nature into the urban space.

Where does Solartag come in?

We contribute with stylish roof solutions for Fælledby that make a difference:

  • CO2 reduction: Solar roofs combine energy production and roof in one, reducing material consumption and ensuring a low climate impact throughout the building's life cycle.

  • CO2 breakeven: Unlike conventional roofs, Solartag reaches a CO2 breakeven after a few years thanks to the roof's ability to produce green power and thus compensate for the energy used in its production.

  • Stylish and functional: Our stylish matte roof solutions harmonize with the architectural expression of modern buildings – perfect for areas like Fælledby, where aesthetics, well-being, and sustainability go hand in hand.

  • Efficient construction: Solartag's modular design and low weight make it easy to integrate into buildings that must meet DGNB's high requirements for resource optimization and circular economy.

What does this mean in practice?
Imagine an entire district where roofs contribute to the energy supply, reduce dependence on fossil fuels and at the same time increase the value of the buildings and the well-being of residents. With Solartag, it's not just a vision – it's reality.

We must have more "Common Towns"!

Announcing the largest BIPV Project in Scandinavia

7.500 m² is larger than a US football field

We are in the process of completing a 7500 m2 BIPV conversion in Denmark - the largest of its kind in all of Scandinavia.

The station park in Glostrup, which houses the correctional service, the Danish Food Agency and Glostrup court is to become the Scandinavia's largest integrated solar roof project!

This exciting project has been underway for over 13 months and with early involvement, our bid department has worked closely with the client CapMan and consultant Werk architects to find the best solutions for the project.

Solartag is replacing the old zinc roof with a complete solar roof solution on 7,500 m². In addition, we also needed to replace all atrium and rider lights.

We look forward to the collaboration with CapMan and the various project participants: Werk architects and Solar Lightning and Solartag – stylish integrated solar roofs with almost invisible solar cells. We are happy that we have been given the opportunity to be part of this ground-breaking renovation and we look forward to creating a future-proof and sustainable solution together.
